On the bar

Small plates matter.

A 5 lb jump can be the difference between a clean set and a grinder. Loading the exact number also makes your log useful: if the bar says 227.5, write 227.5.

What the remainder means

If the target cannot be made with the available plates, the tool shows the closest load and how short it is per side. That is not a failure. It is the real number on the bar.

IPF colors in kilograms

In kg, plates follow the competition colors: 25 red, 20 blue, 15 yellow, 10 green, 5 white, 2.5 black and 1.25 chrome. In pounds the site uses its own gold, rust and bone palette.

Check the bar, not just the app

Bars vary. A 35 lb bar is not a 45 lb bar, and collars add weight. The tool uses the bar you select and ignores collars. Check before you lift.

Load it right

Form is the other half.

If a lift feels wrong at a weight that should be easy, ask a coach to look. The bar is only part of the equation.
